Today on Bike Envy we bring to your attention the stunning Open 29er carbon fibre hardtail, one of the lightest such frames you can buy. It’s an extraordinarily beautiful bit of engineering, the skinniest rear stays you’ve ever seen matched to a chunky down tube and tapered head tube.
This one, featured on the Open website this week, is built with the sort of kit you’d be buying if you’d just won the lottery. A RockShox RS-1 upside-down suspension fork, Tune and DT Swiss hubs on Stan’s NoTubes ZTR Crest rims, Shimano XTR Di2 drivetrain, 3T handlebar and stem, Rotor crank and chainring. It’s all very expensive, but incredibly lightweight kit.
