This video speaks largely for itself and we applaud the work.
The GhanaBambooBikes initiative is a great one and even though Bernice Dapaah’s bikes are around $40 more expensive than their steel counterparts she continues to build with bamboo as it is more ecologically sound.
In fact compared to a traditional bicycle Dappah suggests that the manufacture of a bamboo bicycle helps reduce carbon emissions by up to 70%.
They also plant ten new bamboo plants for every one that they cut down which seems like a good thing.
Would you swap one of your carbon bikes for a bamboo equivalent to help reduce pollution?
Remember whatever you ride…Just Ride…you still produce a lot less pollution than a car.
